Thesis defending per BRAVIS videoconference at the BTU Cottbus

The legal academics of Brandenburg University of Technology became pioneers in using modern technology in university-location Cottbus. For the first time a thesis is defended across continents – made possible by BRAVIS videoconference! As the german newspaper “Lausitzer Rundschau” (lr-online.de from 01. November 2008) reports, the 32 year old Chinese Wei Li gave his lecture in his circa 7500 km away home town Shenyang while his professors were sitting in the university located in Cottbus. The half-hour long exam per videoconference ran smoothly and both picture and sound were of high quality. So not only the obtained grade “Gut”* of the Chinese was acclaimed, also the video experiment was celebrated as complete success. While the professors at the BTU Cottbus still were packing together their exam papers, Wei Li already enjoyed glad hugs of family and friends in far-away China.
